Fonderie Valdelsane dates back to 1961, when the passion and commitment of its three founding members were concretized through the establishment of a small craft enterprise in Colle Val d’Elsa, in the heart of Tuscany. A small reality, but with great prospects.

The strong glassmaking vocation of the area, linked to the high quality wine and oil production, determined the company' choice to specialise, right from its origins, in the production of special cast iron and bronze castings for moulds intended for processing container glass.

The development of Fonderie Valdelsane, together with that of the glass industry in general, led the company to first cross regional and then national borders, becoming in the 1980s a point of reference for Italian and subsequently European operators in the glass market.

The continuously development and improvement of alloys, the intention to use innovative technologies, the requests for ever more rapid deliveries, the growth in volumes required by an increasingly large market determined the need to build a larger production complex. The current headquarters was inaugurated in 1990 and began a new stage for the company's ambitions.

The company's dedication to the continuous search for innovating production techniques aimed exclusively at the production of castings for glass moulds, together with the pioneering spirit that guided the company on trade missions to strengthen numerous partnerships in Europe and around the world, led to a strong increase in production capacity.

In the 2000s, the cast iron and bronze alloys produced by Fonderie Valdelsane became an international quality reference.

The Fonderie Valdelsane factory has been enlargedd and renovated several times. In the three-year period 2013-2015 alone, the roofed surface area grew by over 2,000 square meters, reaching a total of 8,000 square meters.

The strong market pressures aimed at constantly reducing delivery times have led to an equally decisive commitment to automating and making each phase of production more efficient. The consequence of this further technical evolution - the result of large multi-year investments - has translated into greater productivity and digitalisation of process controls.

The company's development is finely bound to its ecological surroundings. The new investment projects are planned based on environmental sustainability criteria.

Fonderie Valdelsane continues its journey with the same enthusiasm and ambition that have characterized its history, with new horizons and goals to achieve and at the same time, the awareness of its global leadership role in the production of special cast iron and bronze alloys for moulds for the glass industry.
